25 Weeks

Nothing too exciting to report this week. We did complete one item off the check list and ordered baby furniture to be delivered in 8-12 weeks. The only other baby news to report is Bucko Jr kicks frequently enough for his daddy to feel at night so that is kind of fun for Chad.
Otherwise the week was pretty uneventful. Thursday night we went to Billy Joel's 'Movin' Out' musical and Friday and Saturday we had dinner with friends. Also on Saturday morning I completed a 'mitzvah' and went up to the University of Iowa Hospital with Junior League and delivered Build A Bears to pediatric cancer patients. It was a really great experience but also a little sad to see. Hopefully Bucko Jr is a healthy little guy!!! Today is a rainy Sunday so we are enjoying coffee and being bums. Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters are both finally new tonight! On tap this week - beginning of ladies golf season. I'm hoping for sunshine!

Happy Easter!

I can't believe I am 6 months pregnant already. Minus the extra 17 pounds I am carrying and the ocassional kicks and punches, I really don't much different yet. Definitely not complaining about that!
We have had a really fun weekend and are sad to see it come and go so quickly. Friday night we celebrated passover with the Weigles. We typically get a little crazy and drink lots of wine but instead we had to break out some sparkling grape juice this year! A photo of the Weigle/McGee Moms to be (Ellie on the left is due Sept 23rd and Anna on the right July 15th). Happy Birthday to Ellie and Chris this weekend!
Saturday night we celebrated Easter with the Everitts. Our nephew Jon colored an Easter egg and frosted a bunny for us to give to 'Rice Krispy' when he is born. It was so cute. We enjoyed watching Jon hunt for eggs and look forward to introducing the cousins to each other this summer.
Other big news this weekend was that the weather is finally taking a turn for the better and Chad got to play golf both Saturday and Sunday. I had forgotten how much I loved golf season. Both mornings I threw on an eye patch as he left and slept until 10 am! It was wonderful. And finally, this weekend was the Masters tournament so we watched lots of golf but we didn't win any money. Bummer. That's all from here!

Celebrating 23 Weeks at Wally World!

We had a very busy week 23 in Orlando celebrating with Mickey Mouse! Chad decided to take this weeks belly shot outside our hotel room over looking the pool (note it was 85 degrees and sunny). What a bummer to come home to 35 and snow today.... Oh well. Orlando was a blast. We packed in a lot in just 4 days. Wednesday night we checked out Disney's Boardwalk, Thursday we visited Animal Kingdom, Friday we got massages, lounged at the pool and took Chad's Aunt Kay to dinner and Saturday we spent the day at the Magic Kingdom and then went to ESPN club to watch basketball. We were planning on spending Saturday at the pool but Chad had not been to Wally World since he was a kid so we couldn't resist. We were probably the only couple in the park without a stroller but that day is coming soon!!!
Also this week we renamed Baby Everitt from Rice Krispy to Bucko Jr (after Chad's nickname) because he now weighs over a pound and has outgrown his first little nickname. So Bucko Jr it is for another 4 months. Below, our first family photo from Disney!

Boy Oh Boy!

The polls are closed and we are happy to announce Baby Everitt is a boy! We are super excited to share the news (though obviously we would have been either way). A few pros and cons did come to mind though. Cons - 1) I hardly have anything blue. Seriously, finding a blue shirt to wear today was nearly impossible. Lots of shopping to do. 2) I wont be buying any cute cheerleader outfits, pink dresses or Pi Phi Angel attire 3) Instead I am picturing wrestling, cuts and bruises, video games and fraternities. OMG. Pros 1) The first and only baby I helped raise was my little brother Henry and I loved every minute of it. Though it was 21 years ago I think I can still consider it 'experience'. 2) I already told Chad he is in charge of potty training. 3) Last but not least, I still get to be The Princess!!!!
So thats the scoop from here. Chad and I leave for Florida tomorrow for our 'babymoon'. More next week. Happy April Fools Day (almost).

22 Weeks

As you can see I have grown a lot in the past two weeks. Chad now uses words such as 'chunky' 'fat' and 'pudgy' to describe me. How endearing... Anyway, I don't have much to write about this week as I hope to have some news to post Tuesday night after our ultrasound so check back in two days.
By the way it snowed in Iowa this weekend. Good thing the Orlando forecast is 85 degrees this week.

21 Weeks

21 weeks and 13 pounds gained so far. Rice Krispy kicks and punches throughout the day to let me know everything is ok (or so I hope).
Our weekend can be summarized in two words - March Madness. We watched basketball ALL weekend. This is one of Chad's favorite times of the year, and to put icing on the cake the golf course opened at DCC this weekend. Double bonus! The highlight of the weekend for me was Wisconsin's late night win in OT on Friday. I don't have high hopes for today but we'll be cheering for the Badgers anyway. Our agenda for this week - more basketball, planning our Orlando agenda, and my grandma Nancy's 89th birthday on Friday!!!

20 Weeks

Halfway already! Finding clothes to squeeze into is definitely becoming more of a challenge. Not much to write about this week. Friday night we stayed home so I could fight off a cold and Saturday night we went to Mamma Mia. The show was fabulous. Tonight we are having corn beef and cabbage in celebration of St Paddys Day (even though neither of us is Irish) and Tuesday we may go out for green beer (Green O'Douls for me ). We are anxiously counting down the days until our Florida vacay!! Happy Spring Break to all of you lucky ones out there.
