Here Comes Santa Claus!

Is it really December already?  Dylan is ready for Christmas this year.  We spent last weekend getting in the holiday spirit.  Our tree is up and stockings are hung.  Saturday night we attended the Christmas Walk in the Village (in the pouring rain) so Dylan could sit on Santa's lap.  He is asking for Chick Hicks and Sarge if anyone out there is a 'Cars' fan.  Good thing Mimi is an excellent ebay shopper and already has us covered :)
Sunday we went to DCC for Lunch with Santa and all kinds of fun for the kiddos.  Here is Dylan and Cami with Santa & Mrs. Claus...

And last but not least an action shot of the cookie decorating.  We have a Christmas fan already!!!

Halloween 2011

Lightning McQueen and my little pumpkin

Celebrating my birthday a couple of weeks ago.  Birthdays somehow become fun again with little ones!
Cami is growing up so fast.  Her new hobby is hanging out in the walker.  She can't quite touch her feet yet but give her another two months and she will be running around the basement trying to keep up with Dylan!

New pics

I finally got around to downloading a few pictures from the past couple of weeks.  I'll keep the post short and sweet!  First, Chad and the kiddos getting ready for the Northwestern game.  I stayed home with the kids, too late and too cold!  But we are planning on celebrating my birthday at the Indiana game this Saturday.  Let's hope for a Hawkeye victory and nice weather :)
Next, Dylan's first attempt at bowling.  He loved it!  If only I could use the cheater...
Dylan's first nap in his toddler car bed.  We are slowly but surely working his way out of the crib!

First ride on the zebra at Niabi Zoo (yes we were wearing shorts last weekend)
And the train ride with dad
Finally, Cami's 2 month photo with Olivia!  She is growing up too fast.
On deck for the next post?  Halloween photos!  Dylan is going as Lightning McQueen and Cami as a pumpkin.  Trick or Treat!

Where does the time go?

I finally have a moment to upload some pictures (Grandma Shirley is playing with Dylan and BJ is rocking Cami while watching the Iowa game) and I noticed I haven't posted anything since Cami was 2 weeks. I guess time flies when you are having fun. Or when I don't ever have any time to myself anymore :) So yes, we have been busy. Cami is great when she sleeps but is pretty fussy the rest of the day. We took her to the last two home Iowa games but decided to stay home today and let Chad have a guys day. Nothing new with Dylan other than he still has an endless supply of energy and a naughty streak. He is going to 2 year old parents day out two days a week which he refers to as 'High School'. Not surprisingly, his reports every day say all he plays with are cars and trucks. Oh well. Here he is on his first day....

Cami's first Iowa game (Dylan went to Grandma's house) And the best photo I could get of the two of them this morning. Go Hawks!!!

2 Weeks

Cami is 2 weeks old already! She had her first doctor appointment Wednesday and so far so good. And mommy is doing fine too :) For those of you who didn't hear I'm now 2 for 2 on pregnancies ending in trips to the ER. Not something to be proud of! 3 days after bringing Cami home I woke up to heavy bleeding and pain and ended up in an ambulance with a blood clot. After minor surgery and 5 pints of blood I was discharged the next day. At least Dylan was so excited about an ambulance, firetruck and police car showing up at our house that he wasn't too concerned about what was going on. But everyone is healthy and life is good!!! We have been busy with family this past week. My grandparents from Texas came in town to celebrate my grandpa's 80th birthday. My little bro Henry is back from med school for two weeks to visit. Great timing too because I need lots of help entertaining Dylan these days! Good thing he starts 2 year old parents day out next Monday. He needs out of the house! Anyway, here are some photos from the past two weeks. Who knows when I will ever get a free moment to post again!

Welcome Cami!

Camilla Jeanne Everitt arrived at 9:44 this morning weighing 8 lbs 9 oz and 19 1/2 inches. We have only known her for 8 hours but she is amazing. A great sleeper and eater already. Hooray! Too bad her big brother hasn't been able to visit as we are waiting for his mild fever to subside.... Ugggh. Maybe tomorrow. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. So far so good! XOXO.

Baby Update

... or lack thereof! I went to the doctor today and baby does not want to come out. We are giving her one more week to decide to join us on her own terms or she is getting pulled out via C section next Wednesday the 10th. Boo! So that's all I know for now.

Most of you probably know but last week was a bit of a rough week for our family. My Grandma Nancy passed away last Wednesday. She was a pretty hip 91 year old who will never be forgotten. I have so many memories I could share but here is one of my favorite pics of my cousin Ellie and I celebrating Nancy's 85th birthday in Mexico. She always loved a party!

And a link to her obit in the QC Times. We miss you every day Nancy!!!

Dylan is 2!

Happy Birthday to Dylan! I can't believe my baby turned 2 on Tuesday. He had such a great day. Pancakes and Monkey Joes with Aunt Jen Jen followed by a family birthday dinner. The highlight of the night was definitely the yellow and green cement mixer cake (we have to drive by the local cement plant on State Street at least twice a day to look for it).

Dylan got so many new toys he didn't know what to do with himself. Good thing we have plenty of space in the basement and playroom for everything. Here he is trying to figure out his new motorcycle...
And checking out his new trampoline from Mimi and BJ with cousin Madeline...

Yes its been quite the week! I'm 38 weeks with baby Sylvia and still feeling pretty good considering. My mom took a belly shot but I can't figure out how to rotate it. Sorry. Also our move was successful last weekend and we are slowly settling in the new house. House pics to come. Time to catch up on some zzzzzs before baby. I'll keep you all posted!!!

Happy 4th!

Happy Birthday America! We celebrated yesterday at DCC with a huge pool party and fireworks. Dylan loved them. We didn't make it home until 10:30 but our baby is a night owl these days so he didn't mind one bit (hey- its summer!). Today we enjoyed the Bettendorf 4th of July parade. The highlights were definitely the firetruck, ambulance, police car and semi truck... He is easy to please these days. He refused an afternoon nap so we attended another pool party instead. Here are a couple of pics from the parade.

I can't believe July is here and summer is half over :( Now the fun really begins. Less than a month until my due date and 2 weeks until Dylan's birthday and a move. Don't expect a lot of blogging anytime soon!

New Trick

At least he is not diving out of his crib headfirst!

Welcome Summer!

Happy Memorial Day! We celebrated with a hot 90 degree day at the pool. It only took 10 minutes for Dylan to discover the diving board. Gone are the days of lounging at the baby pool... Guess its time to learn to swim!

Lots of Excuses

I figured I would dedicate this post to all of the reasons why I haven't posted anything in over a month.

#1- My camera broke. I finally got a new one this week so I haven't been good about taking pictures. I guess I haven't updated since before Easter so I'll add a couple of quick Easter pics.

Next is a photo of my mom and I at a High Tea honoring Kate and Prince William on their wedding day. Like I said, a bit delayed.

Finally, Dylan's biggest obsession is cars and trucks. He is particularly into school buses, cement mixers and semis. Therefore, what better place for an outing than the I-80 Truck Stop? We had breakfast and sat by the window to stare at all of the trucks passing on the interstate. Then we visited the truck museum. He loved it. Especially when we got a semi to honk his horn :)

Ok back to excuses...

#2 - We are moving in July and just listed our house. Our new home is less than 2 miles away so its not much of a move but exciting nonetheless. Now we have the never ending battle of trying to keep the house spotless with a toddler. Poor Dylan. Almost all of his toys are in the unfinished part of the basement. Good thing it's summer so we hope to spend the next two months at the park or pool. Or mowing the lawn and going for convertible rides with daddy!

#3 - I'm almost 30 weeks pregnant and have a 22 month old, enough said??? No time for blogging. I did have another ultrasound last week and the tech still thinks its a girl so time to paint the nursery pink in the new house.

That's all I have for now. I'll try to do better this month!

Myrtle Beach

Last week we took a vacay to Myrtle Beach, SC with my parents and our friends the Kapolneks. The guys golfed every day so the ladies had plenty of time to sit around and drink coffee (chilly mornings) and hang by the pool in the afternoon. The weather was only 70 and sunny so nice enough to sit in the sun but freezing to go in the water. Unfortunately that didn't stop Dylan. He is a pool rat and ready for DCC to open!!! We had an awesome time and were not too excited to come back to 40s in Iowa. Maybe things will turn around in May. Anyway, some photos below.

At the Beach (Dylan would not get out of the stroller, he is terrified of sand)

Playing in the pirate ship with Mimi
Slide Action Photo! Notice Chad is wearing a jacket. BRRRRRRR.

Happy Easter Everyone!
