17 Weeks

Bummer, I dont think I look any bigger this week. But I did wear my first BellaBand which was pretty sweet. Chad wants to get one in his size. Also, I started feeling lots of twinges and fluttering in the lower left side of my abs. I am not 100% but I think its the baby trying to say hello. I may need a few more weeks before I know for sure.
This weekend went by way too fast as they always do. Friday night we went to the Bettendorf vs Assumption basketball game. The dogs won of course :) Saturday night we bowled in the Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon. Deloitte always chooses the 9 pm start time so it was a little bit of a late night but lots of fun. Oh yeah, I beat Chad so that made it even better. Now we are even in 2009. Today I am off to meet my buddy Heather for coffee, then volunteering for Junior League this afternoon. Unfortunately the Oscars are getting in the way of our Sunday night shows so who knows whats in store this evening. More next week!

16 Weeks

Week 16 has been very eventful, both good and bad. Monday I came home from work and found our beta fish Micky was a goner. Chad and I were both very sad. Unfortunately this is the second beta we have lost together. Hopefully we will do better with children. As they say, third time is a charm so we may go shopping for a replacement this week... Moving on - Wednesday night I went to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (hilarious!) and Friday was a Valentine's Dinner at DCC with our friends the Dollenbachers.
Saturday we spent the day at Chad's parents house for our nephew Jon's 5th birthday party. Lots of gifts and of course delicious cake :) Happy Birthday Jon!!!

Saturday night Chad and I planned a romantic Valentine's dinner at home. We celebrated with lobster and sparkling grape juice followed by a movie, Nights in Rodanthe. We had promised each other no gifts, just cards. Well, Chad got around this one by sending me roses from Baby Everitt. He really is a keeper :) Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

15 Weeks

15 weeks and 5 pounds gained so far. Thankfully I am not one to get rid of fat pants so I still have clothes to wear for a few weeks. I also started working out so maybe some of it is muscle? Or maybe not....
We were fortunate to have an uncharacteristic 57 degree day on Saturday. I went on a walk with my mom and Chad went golfing. What a treat for February. Otherwise we had a pretty quiet weekend until attending the Don Rickles show last night at the Rock Island Casino. I know I am showing my age but I had never heard of the guy until we got tickets. It was pretty amusing nonetheless. Tonight we are going over to Chad's parents house to celebrate Jen's birthday. Happy early birthday Jennifer!!!

14 Week Update

As I mentioned yesterday I had a 14 week dr appt today. The doctor took one look at my tummy and said 'oh yeah, you are definitely growing!' I'm not sure if that was supposed to be a complement or not but I was very happy to hear the little heartbeat. Yay, there really is a baby in there! Unfortunately my appointments are every four weeks and the Group likes to schedule ultrasounds closer to 20 weeks so I have to wait until 22 weeks until we can find out the gender, probably last week of March or first of April. Anyway, it was a good day.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday

First sighting of a bump at 14 weeks. Chad says its the baby but I'm wondering if I'm just storing up extra fat for the cold Iowa winter. This should all be settled tomorrow when I go to the doctor. Hopefully I will get to hear the heartbeat and have peace of mind there really is a baby in there...
Above is a picture of our new exercise equipment that we had delivered yesterday. I decided to get a photo of Chad testing it out because who knows if he'll ever get on it again (anyone reading this please do not repeat that I said that)!!! Ha. I worked out yesterday for a whole 15 minutes while watching the Turbo Jam infomercial in the background. Hey, gotta start somewhere. I am planning another mini workout today before heading to Davenport Country Club for the Super Bowl. I could really care less about the game, just the all you can eat pizza buffet. Happy February!
