Camera Happy

37 week belly shot a couple of days late as promised... Chad wanted to take this photo outside to show off his new toy of the week. Feel free to oooh and ahhh because I'm not sure I showed too much excitement. But hey, if it gets me out of cooking dinner this summer and fall I'm all for it!!!
Moving on, I got a little bored after work today so I amused myself by taking some pictures as a reminder what pregnancy was really like in my final months.
Photo #1: Cankles. Definition as obtained from the Urban Dictionary:
n. 1) An aesthetically unfortunate physiological condition which leaves its victims with no discernable narrowing of the ankle between the calf and the foot. 2) An ankle which has no discernable narrowing from the calf to the foot. History: The word is derived a combination of the words calf and ankle. Victims of this condition are advised to avoid the following: ankle boots, ankle-strap shoes, anklets, ankle socks, ankle tattoos, high-top shoes, and any other footwear or legwear that might draw attention to the cankle region.

Photo #2: The 'Mask of Pregnancy'. I have had skin darkening around my neck for the past 3 months. The only four people who have had the guts to ask me about it (or try to clean it off) include Chad, my mom, my dad, and my cousin Ellie. I guess everyone else just thinks I haven't showered or its a birth mark.

Photo #3: Belly front view 37 weeks. A picture really is worth a thousand words...

That's all for now!

37 Weeks

Belly shot to be posted later. I attempted a self photo this morning unsuccessfully as my stomach is so big it could not fit in the picture. Pretty embarrassing. So it only took 37 weeks but I'm starting to feel pretty pregnant. I'm now experiencing major cankles, upset stomache, and nighttime potty trips every 30 minutes. Bucko Jr is starting to give me some signs that he may not stay in utero forever. Oh well, guess thats normal. I think it may be time for Chad and I to start discussing names and getting some items for a hospital bag together just in case. Speaking of Chad I haven't seen much of him this week as he has been busy working at the John Deere Classic. I am heading out around noon to watch 36 holes of golf (thankfully Deloitte has an air conditioned suite) and then an after party so I guess its going to be a late night. Otherwise nothing else exciting going on here. Just waiting to hear some baby news from a few friends and one particular cousin :) Congrats to Heather and her new little girl who arrived last weekend! Bucko Jr can't wait to meet all of his new friends!

36 Weeks

Happy Birthday America! We had a fun filled 4th of July Weekend. Friday night we had a few friends over for a cookout. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate yesterday so instead of playing at the pool we sat inside and watched a movie! Oh well. The rain cleared and we were able to watch fireworks up at DCC Saturday night. Today we spent the afternoon at the pool and now we are resting up for a busy week of the John Deere Classic ahead.
Bucko Jr continues to grow as you can tell from the photo above. He got two very exciting presents this week - his carseat from the Everitts and a rocker/glider from Grandma Nancy (ok, maybe this one was really for mom). We are just about ready. Only 4 weeks to go!

Belly Shots!

We have had a pretty uneventful week 35 at the Everitt household so I thought I would post a few fun belly shots for this weeks update. We spent a majority of the weekend at DCC (no surprise there) and Chad won his flight in a two day golf tournament, yay! Saturday I went to a baby shower for my cousin Ellie. She is due late September with a little girl. Here we are trying to introduce the 'cousins'.

Saturday night we had an impromptu gathering of a few friends for grilling out and games. Below is a classic photo - like father like daughter (sorry Dad, had to post it)!

This week is going to fly by as we are celebrating 4th of July this weekend. Hopefully Bucko Jr will enjoy the fireworks. More next week!

34 Weeks

This week marks 30 pounds gained so far, with 6 weeks still left to go! Yikes. We have had a super fun weekend. Friday Chad headed down to Peoria with 11 other friends for a guys golf overnight at the Paradise Casino. Although the weather didn't cooperate on Friday I think they still managed to have a great time. At least they all came back in one piece. What happens in Peoria, stays in Peoria! Meanwhile, my brother Ben came through the QC Friday night. My mom and I decided to entertain him by going to the movies. We saw The Hangover. It was entertaining but completely inappropriate humor. My recommendation is wait until it comes out on the Red Box! Anyway, Saturday morning my buddies Jenny and Traci held a brunch for all of the Peoria widows and some other DCC friends. While the cats away the mice will play! We had a blast. The food was great and the decorations were so cute. Little Bucko Jr got so much fun stuff. Unfortunately I feel like he is spoiled already. He doesn't even have a chance! Oh well. After the brunch we headed to the pool to cool down. I'm not sure I even got a tan line but it was relaxing. Then Chad and I went to dinner with our friends the Snyders. Now we are ready for Fathers Day! I told Chad we could do whatever he wanted today. Unfortunately it appears the US Open is STILL on rain delay so I'm not sure where the day will take us... Other events upcoming this week - Monday we graduate from Childbirth Class, Tuesday Chad is attending Daddy Boot Camp and this weekend is a baby shower for my cousin Ellie. Baby Fever is definitely settling in. Speaking of, congratulations to my friend Rebecca who had a beautiful baby boy this past week!!! Happy Fathers Day to All!

33 Weeks

Today was so beautiful we decided to take the belly shot outside on our screened in porch. What a crazy busy week its been. We were at DCC five days in a row! Wednesday night we listened to Captain Kirk (the Iowa football coach) speak at an I-club fundraiser and Thursday I golfed with friends. Friday night DCC threw a 'Saturday Night Fever' Two- Ball. So we dressed in our best disco clothes from the 70s, played golf and had a 70s theme dinner and dance party. It was a great time. My parents were very disappointed to come in 4th place for best costume. They definitely deserved better. Oh well. Saturday morning I hosted a baby shower for a good friend and then attended a retirement party. More dinner and dancing at DCC! We left at 12:30 so it was a late night but lots of fun. Then today Chad and I golfed 18 holes with my parents. Now we are both fighting to stay awake... Anyway, big news in the baby's room this week. The painting, wallpapering, and furniture assembly are all done! We still need a rocker/glider and have to put together the mobile and wall hangings but those are just minor details. I am so proud of myself that I figured out how to do slide shows so I hope you enjoy this weeks!

32 Weeks

32 weeks and the bump continues to grow. We just got home from a trip to Galena. Friday the ladies went to the spa while the men golfed and then we all hung at our rental home for the evening. Saturday the guys played in the rain and we went shopping downtown and met up later for dinner. Below is a picture of our group having cocktails at a wine bar. Basically we ate, drank and relaxed all weekend. It was great!

Chad was very happy to come home this afternoon to find we had little helpers over the weekend working on wallpapering the nursery (aka BJ and Kathy). Once we get the furniture moved in I will post updated photos. On tap this week - Monday is childbirth class # 2, Wednesday is an I-club golf outing for Chad then dinner with wives, Thursday is am and pm golf, Friday is a Saturday Night Fever themed two ball and Saturday I am hosting a friend's baby shower followed by a retirement party. I'm exhausted just thinking about it!
