The 9 month stats are in - 28 1/4 inches and 17 lbs 13 oz. 50th for height and 10th for weight. Still a peanut! The best part about our appointment was we walked away with 24 FREE ounces of Enfamil samples. A $25 value, score!!! The afternoon was uneventful other than two funny stories. First, the nurse practioner mentioned she could tell Dylan eats plenty of veggies because of his skin. I just recently learned that orange veggies like sweet potatoes and squash tint the baby's skin yellow. I guess its obvious what Chad likes to feed Dyl for dinner! The second is the 9 month hand out I took home mentions it is time to teach the baby 'No'. It even goes on to state that if the baby doesn't respond to 'No' that we should try putting him in a play pen for one minute without toys and attention from mom. Hello! Is it just me or is Dylan too little for 'time out'? I thought that was weird. But just for fun, I tried starting with 'No' tonight. Dylan's new hobby is blowing bubbles and making spitting noises when he eats (super annoying, especially because he sprays it everywhere). I looked at him and told him 'No' and he thought it was hilarious. Everytime I said the word it was funnier to him. I think it is a foreshadowing of things to come.... Oh well.
We had a great play date with my friend Kari and her kiddos today :) And tomorrow we are Hilton Head bound. Hasta La Vista, Baby!

Ahh, Sunday the Day of Rest!
Good thing it is Sunday and we can stay home and relax! Two weeks have passed since my Easter update - whoops. Hopefully I can remember what we've been doing! Last week we got a visit from my grandparents (GG & DD) from Texas. Dylan 'skypes' with them quite often but was excited to show off all of his new tricks in person. Speaking of new tricks, two weeks ago he first pulled himself to a stand and now he can stand on his own no problem. He also started taking steps along my parent's couch and hearth last night. Ay Ay Ay. He discovered the stairs at our house and started venturing up the first two before I decided that was a bad idea. He is a busy busy boy these days!!! My favorite discovery of the week is that he is terrified of grass. Today we sat in the yard on a blanket so he could try to explore a little bit at a time. It is hilarious.
Last night Dylan partied with his cousins Christopher and Madeline. It was the first time the babies had all been together since Thanksgiving. Dylan and Christopher fought over toys and Madeline minded her own business and played happily in the jumperoo.

And finally, Mimi pulls out the cozy coupe from the attic! Its been up there so long it is now a convertible... oh well!
Tomorrow Dylan turns 9 months so stay tuned for a Mickey photo (no promises that I can get him to sit long enough to snap a photo). Friday we leave for a family vacay to Hilton Head. And we have some last minute company, the Hassels! Watch out South Carolina!!!

Can you tell we had a gallery? Each of them looking at a different camera...
Recreating of the October photo shoot. Madeline hammin' it up!

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter from the Everitts! What a fun holiday weekend it was for Dylan. Saturday we took Dylan and his cousin Jon to DCC for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. What a fiasco! It was a beautiful day, and not only did we participate in an egg hunt, but also a petting zoo on the driving range. Hopefully the clean up crew did a good job when we left :) Below, daddy helps Dylan discover his first egg. Lucky for mom, Dylan doesn't get to eat the chocolate or candy yet!

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
The Good - Dylan slept through the night 5 times last week.
The Bad - He screamed for 2-3 hours straight starting at 11 pm the other two nights.
The Ugly - His new obsession is pulling himself up on everything, including the side of his crib, the bathtub, mom's leg, etc.
Yes its been quite an interesting week and a half. Not only with Dylan's new tricks but also lots of fun activities for mom and dad. Friday Chad got his first round of the summer in at DCC. By the looks of this week's forecast there could be more in his future. Saturday my grandmother Nancy turned 90 so lots of my cousins came home to celebrate. Unfortunately I had a bachelorette party in Chicago so I missed out on that party. But as you could imagine, I had a great time as well. It was my first real night out on the town since Ellie's bachelorette party in July 2008. How lame, I know! And I was so proud of myself, I made it out past midnight and after six hours of drinking somehow survived without a hangover!

Monday night the family bonding continued with the Weigle family annual sedar for passover. I think my mom may have been a little confused because this is how she dressed Dylan for the occasion...
Madeline got a matching outfit in pink. Unfortunately neither one of them enjoyed the photo shoot so this is the best picture I could come up with of the two of them. Oh well.
They both cheered up a bit once they changed from bunny costumes to their 'My First Passover' bibs. Below, they get their first look at Manischewitz wine. Dont worry kids, your time will come (note: please focus on the babies in the picture, not the mommies)

8 Months
Dylan turned 8 months on Friday. Time flies when you are having fun. And Dylan is definitely having lots of fun these days! He amuses himself by crawling all around our living room and getting himself into trouble. His new words this week are 'mom mom' and 'na na'. Below is a photo of Dylan with his new toy 'car' that his daddy bought him. Uncle Bob will be excited that he is starting his driving lessons so early.
Wednesday Dylan celebrated his first St Paddys Day! He had green peas for dinner while mom and dad drank some green beer. Delicious.

Yay for Daylight Savings!
'Spring Forward' is usually one of the worst days of the year. Giving up an extra hour of sleep! But yesterday we had something to celebrate. Dylan's bed time and wake up time just got pushed back one hour :) He can now stay up until 9 and sleep until 8:30 or 9 am. Hooray! Unfortunately our weekend got off to a rough start, as you can see from the picture below...
We had one sick little dude! Poor guy could barely sleep Friday night (which coincidently happened to be a night I decided to have several glasses of wine and a shot - I think I was being punished). He had his first little fever Saturday but was such a trooper and still managed to play and crawl around like nothing was bothering him. I tried to get a better picture below but someday I will figure out the video camera...
Dylan's new favorite thing is feeding himself. He loves to have his own sippy cup, bottle, and munchin mesh self feeder with fruit (aka Dylan's popsicle). Weaning him has been a piece of cake. Here is a pic of Dylan sipping his apple juice watching Baby Einstein. Hey, its a rough life when you don't feel well!
Even though he likes taking his own bottle, Daddy still gets the pleasure of rocking Dyl to sleep at night.
What's on tap for us this week? Drinking some green beer Wednesday, playing with cousin Jon Thursday, celebrating Dylan turning 8 months on Friday and of course watching basketball all weekend. Maybe Dylan will get to meet his new friend Evyn now that he is feeling better. Congrats Traci and Jeff!!!

Remembering 1 year ago...
Life was so easy. Dylan was about 20 weeks and I was just starting to show. I could sleep in until 10 am. And best of all, it was Shamrock shake season. Chad would come home from work with two large shakes from the McDonalds drive through and I had an excuse to eat them. Ahh, those were the days.
Yes things have changed. Dylan has to be supervised 24-7. I cannot leave him alone to go to the bathroom. He is army crawling and rolling all over the room and his favorite places to explore are the fireplace, the coffee table, the vents, the outlets, and under the exersaucer. I can't even count how many times a day he has red marks and tears from banging his head. The worst part is I know its just the beginning. He is learning something new every day. His recent hobbies include taking off his diaper, sitting up in his crib, and playing with cell phones. He says 'Ba Ba' and 'Da Da' but doesn't know what they mean. He loves Pat the Bunny. So much in fact that he found the book on his own and started playing peek-a-boo with Paul earlier this week.
Well thats all the time I have for today. Time for Dylan's lunch. But one last thing, Happy Birthday shout outs this past week to Uncle Jon, brother Henry, Grandma Pete, my mother in law Shirley (today) and my buddy Shelley tomorrow!!! Happy March.
